When you are quoting a longer quotation (more than 30 words is a good rule of thumb) from someone in one of your blog posts, you should use the ‘blockquote’ button on the posting toolbar. Follow these steps:
1. Find the ‘quotation mark’ in the toolbar above the post editor. It looks like this:. Press return to begin a new paragraph and then…
2. Click the quotation mark button and then your text will look slightly offset from the rest of your text. Make sure that you still provide an introduction to the quotation before the block. No dropped quotes! Once you are done with the quotation, press the return button again and click the quotation mark button again to end the block quote.
3. Then you can continue your own blogging and voice below with the quotation being nicely offset so that your readers can easily separate your own words from the words you are quoting.
4. Every WordPress theme makes quotations looks a little different, so yours might not look exactly like this one.
